Father's Day Celebrations

We hope all our Dads and special people had a wonderful Father’s Day on Sunday, 7th September. Over the past week, it has been such a joy welcoming dads, grandparents, and special friends into kinder. The children loved sharing their world with you—playing, learning, and of course offering the special treats they made with love. It’s always so heartwarming to see the important people in our children’s lives enjoying these moments together.

Transition Statements

Term 4 is a big term for our 4 YO's preparing to head off to school!!  There will be transition sessions for children at which ever school your child will be attending.  These are an important part of the process and really help children feel more comfortable the following year.  I encourage all families to take up the Transition Sessions at your child's school.

The Kindergarten Teachers will also assist in this transition process by writing a detailed report for your child's school, explaining your child's learning style, friendships, developmental stages, their interests and any other important details the school might need to know to ensure a smooth transition.  The Transition Statements will be completed on the Insight Platform.  A link will be sent home later in Term 4 for families to access a portion of the Statements to complete.  Once all sections are completed, the document will be forwarded to your child's school via the platform.

If you haven't already, please let your child's teacher know what school your child will be attending in 2026.  If you do not wish for a Transition Statement to be completed for your child please email your child's teacher.

Hats are back

Children are now required to wear hats, as per our sunsmart policy when outside. Please ensure that all hats are clearly named so they can make their way back to the right person if they go missing! It is great to also get your child in the habit of applying sunscreen prior to session in the morning.  Allow them to apply it themselves with your help, making sure they don't miss spots.   We also have sunscreen in the rooms and mirrors for the children to apply throughout the day.

Update on Photo Use at VPSK

We would like to inform you about an important update to our practices regarding the use of photos at Vermont Primary School Kindergarten.

In line with the National Model Code and the recent updates to the Education and Care Services National Regulations, services are being asked to give greater consideration to children’s rights, including their ability to provide genuine consent, and to take steps to minimise each child’s digital footprint.

As a result, you may notice that fewer photos of your child will be taken and shared with you from now on. This does not mean that we value capturing and sharing your child’s learning any less, rather, it reflects our commitment to:

  • Respecting children’s dignity and their developing ability to decide how their image is used.
  • Ensuring that children’s personal information is protected and used thoughtfully.
  • Reducing the amount of digital content stored and shared about each child.

Please be assured that you will continue to receive meaningful updates about your child’s learning and development. Our educators will continue to share stories, observations, and updates with you in ways that align with these strengthened regulatory requirements, while still keeping you connected to your child’s learning journey.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we adapt to these important changes. Should you have any queries or require more information, please reach out to Meg or any of the teachers.
