Foundation Unit

This fortnight the Foundation students have been looking at writer’s craft techniques and how they engage a reader. Students have been looking at rhyming, precise verbs and alliterations in texts. The students have also had a go at writing some sentences of their own using rhyming, precise verbs and alliterations.

 

In Maths, students have been working on creating a worded problem for subtraction. They have also explored different ways to solve and record the problem including drawing a diagram and writing a number sentence.

 

In Inquiry, students have explored the Djaara Seasonal Calendar. They have looked at how it differs from the four season calendar, and how the Djaara Seasonal Calendar uses observations and changes to the environment to determine what season we are in.

 

Students have been working collaboratively between both Foundation classrooms to create a display, explaining and ordering the seasons, which will be put on display in the corridor.
