Year -1/2 Unit

Welcome to week 8 in the 1/2 classes! 

Over the last few weeks students have been using a range of strategies to solve division problems. They have explored poetry by reading poems and noticing the choices writers make when writing poetry, including; rhyming words, words that don’t rhyme and different patterns. Students have enjoyed writing their own diamante poems which focus on a topic and use nouns, adjectives, verbs and synonyms to create a poem. 

During Inquiry lessons, students have continued to learn about Australian landmarks and they have begun their own research into some of Australia’s most famous landmarks. 

Coming up next week, Wednesday the 17th of September is the Footy Day Lunch. Students are also looking forward to the early finish of Term 3 next Friday the 19th of September at 2:30pm. Year 1/2 teachers wish everyone a happy and safe two week break.
