Principal's Reports

Principal - Ms. Jenny Dowsett

End Of Term 3:

What a wonderful term we have had with many highlights and opportunities for learning and engagement for our students and families. Some highlights this term were: Student performances and open afternoon, Book Parade, Kinder Visits, Footy Day, Deadly Day, Swimming Program, Parent Teacher Interviews, NAIDOC week, Father's Day Stall and Father's Day breakfast. I'm sure Term 4 will be just as busy and engaging.

School Review:

Every 4 years, all schools have a review to evaluate the progress of our last 4 year Strategic Plan and set goals for the next 4 years. We are in the process of having our school review. As part of the review, the reviewer would like to have a focus group with parents to have parent input to guide future decision making. If you would be available on Friday the 10th October at 3pm for 30 minutes and willing to join a group of 5 to 6 parents for a discussion can you please let me know. The reviewer has set questions to ask and will facilitate the discussion.

Swimming Program:

We understand that the cancellation of 2 swimming lessons was quite disruptive to our program and unavoidable due to lack of staffing at the swimming pool. We are working on organising two catch up sessions and will let you know when or if this can happen. We are so proud of our students who attended the swimming program. They were well behaved, resilient and respectful.

School Contributions:

A huge thankyou to parents who have paid the voluntary school contributions. The contributions from our parents contribute around $36,000 to our school programs and it makes a big difference to our students when these payments are made.

2026 Planning:

It's that time of year where we start planning for the next school year. We know some of our families are moving out of the area. We will be sad to see these families move on, but we appreciate you letting us know as it helps us to plan grade structures and staffing more effectively. If you know your child won't be attending Bunyip Primary School in 2026 we would appreciate an email to let us know. Likewise, if you know of any families who are planning on enrolling for 2026, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible to ensure we have space for their children.

Railway Crossing

The school holidays are a good opportunity to remind your child how to cross a railway crossing safely. Please ensure they know to wait behind the gate when it is closed until the train has passed and the gates have opened.
