Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome Back
Next week we welcome back Roxy Brito (Office Administrator, and training Business manager) after a year of absence. Roxy takes on a new role of training business manager and administration and we look forward to welcoming her back into our school.
We also say good-bye to Ms. Ratcliffe who will commence maternity leave this week and, wish her all the best with the forthcoming birth of her first child.
We warmly welcome to our school staff Ms. Hanna Bryon who is delighted to be stepping into the role of Year 6B classroom teacher. Ms. Bryon is eager to collaborate with our amazing staff, engage with our brilliant students, and develop strong partnerships with parents.
As we welcome new staff to our school, we also say goodbye to staff who chose to make changes to their work location. On this occasion, we wish Anu and Tib (Education support) all the best and thank them for their support over the years.
Curriculum Day
Last Friday our 2nd very successful curriculum day of the year was held with the staff working through a series of workshops led by our very skilled learning specialists and other staff. The day centered around teaching and learning with a focus on the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0 (Maths), Reading Fluency, and Checking for Understanding. Please see Ms. D’s newsletter article for further information on the day.
Education staff undertook work around supporting students with Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans.
What great leaders we have.
Last Wednesday, a very respectful ceremony was held to mark ANZAC Day. A wreath was laid in memory of the men and women who gave their lives for the freedom that we enjoy today. The poem, “In Flanders Field” was also recited along with the Last Post, as part of the ceremony.
A member of our local RSL, Mr. Lions attended and was able to provide students with appropriate information about Gallipoli. He also spoke about the importance of remembering those, who lost their lives in all the military and peacekeeping operations in which Australia has been involved.
Our school leaders spoke beautifully and with such amazing confidence. Our guest speaker, Mr. Lions, was glowing with his praise of our student leaders and the exemplary behaviour of our students.
I can't stress more strongly, that on many occasions, we are commended by how our students conduct themselves, the way they treat others, and how respectful they are. This is the good work of our community but also (and especially) of our wonderful teaching staff who have high expectations of our students.
Out of School Hours Care – TheirCare
During the holidays we welcomed TheirCare as our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service provider. Their team has ensured a smooth transition, creating a friendly and welcoming environment with a wide range of engaging activities designed to cater to the diverse interests and needs of our students.

A big thanks
Our anticipated Mother’s Day or significant other luncheon is being held this Friday and our amazing stall, where the students purchase gifts for their Mother/s or significant others, is being held next Thursday. We thank Jade Saunders (Samson 3B and Lenny 5C) and Michelle Stephen (Luella 4A, Hugo 3C, and Sailor 1C) (amazing luncheon organisers), and Danielle Bodinnar (Charlie 1C and Isobel 3A) (Fabulous stall organiser) for making these two events happen.
We look forward to a really productive and engaging next couple of weeks with our forthcoming Math’s Night (a calendar event not to miss), Education Week, the rescheduling of some Cross country races, and excursions.
Kind regards
Sharon Wildermuth
