Seeing the whole and imagining solutions

Dear Class 2 Families,

Thank you for your efforts with Autumn Festival Costumes. The finishing touches really topped off the dance.

Our Local Surroundings Main Lesson, "Candle of the Night" has come to an end, and we are working on making animal books. We have started to delve into the garden this term and enjoyed the Bradshaw Walk.

We are taking a look at place value in our next Mathematics Main Lesson: Back to Numberlund. Class 2 will work horizontally with numbers and use strategies such as counting on, partitioning, make ten and rearranging to solve problems. Chanting the times tables and using the four processes in narrative form will be a daily activity.

The ability to see the whole and imagine solutions needs to be in necessary balance with skills for computation.
