Welcome back to term 2 students and parents!
For Physical and Outdoor Education (POE) we have the class 6 and class 7/8 camps this term.
Class 5 & 6 start Interschool Sports on Friday afternoons with hockey for weeks 3 and 4 then Oz tag (touch NRL) in weeks 6/7/9.
There is also an opportunity for the Class 5/6 students to partake in the annual Interschool Cross Country and Orienteering (Tuesday 14th May)/Mountain bike (Friday 24th May)/Athletics days (Friday 7th June).
An email and letter has been sent home regarding these events or refer to flyer in newsletter (in the community notices section) or notice board near office. I would like to take the opportunity to ask if any parents could help in the running of these events it would be greatly appreciated so please get in touch with myself if interested or able to assist in conducting these events.
For safety and a smoother running of events a number of people are required as recorders, marshals, track guidance etc. and the sporting community in Alice is thankfully strong and vibrant thanks to all those involved.
I would like to wish all the best of luck to students competing in regional sport this term from U12’s netball to cricket and football, soccer and touch football. Well done for being selected, there are proposed trials for U12 cricket on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th April.
If you would like more information please reach out. Especially in seeking an application form for trial as we are aware unfortunately a few students struggled with that in the past. Your local club or PE school teachers normal have the application forms for these trials.
Thank you and all the best,
Heath Morris
