On Friday 3rd May, we will be holding our St Brendan’s Whole School Cross Country for students in Foundation - Grade 6.
This event will be held at school from 1.15pm - 3.15pm. Students are required to come to school in their PE uniform and can wear a plain tee shirt in their house colour (if they wish). They will also need a water bottle and to bring sunscreen and a change of shoes if wet weather is forecasted. Lunchtime will be earlier to accommodate the program.
I encourage all students to participate on the day. During their sports lessons, students have been walking around the track to familiarize themselves with the route. I've assured the students that if they become tired, they can walk, take a moment to catch their breath, and try again.
For this event to run successfully, we require parents helpers to stand at checkpoints and help at the recording table. If you can assist it would be greatly appreciated. Please email thaddock@sbsomerville.catholic.edu.au.
The school gates will open once the event has finished, due to the course being on parts of the road. Parents attending the event to help or to watch, are required to park somewhere appropriate outside of the school grounds and walk in. All parents, guardians, friends and family are very welcome to come, watch and cheer St Brendan’s on!

Exciting News: Gaga Pit Fun at St. Brendan's!
In the upcoming weeks, our sports program at St. Brendan's will not only focus on familiarizing ourselves with the Cross Country Track but also on the exhilarating Gaga Pit!
A massive shoutout to Mr. Justin Barry and the Year 5/6 Students for their incredible work in STEM, resulting in the creation of an amazing Gaga Pit. We've been learning how to play the game safely and with kindness, ensuring that everyone can enjoy it during recess and lunch.
We're thrilled to share a video created by our Year 6 house Captains, who collaborated with us to establish the rules and values important for Gaga Ball play. Check out the video and get ready for some Gaga Pit fun!
Thanks so much for your ongoing support in PE,
Tess Haddock
