Build a Bridge... And Get Over It

Last week Oscar Nugent and Ethan Harris (Year 10) both participated in 'Build a Bridge... and Get Over It', an inspiring engineering camp that involves three days of teamwork, problem solving and engineered solutions. This is an annual event put on by REROC and COMPACT, with sponsorship from Riverina Water, CSU, Goldenfields Water, Evolution Mining etc.

The two boys were placed into different teams, met new friends, reconnected with some old ones, and were led by a large cast of Engineering Industry experts and professionals from across the Riverina region and beyond. 

Teams had to design, build, test, and refine a timber suspension bridge across the creek. At the graduation presentation, there were plenty of anxious parents and onlookers as all 25 participants crossed the winning team’s engineered suspension bridge. It did not break and nobody fell in!
