Canteen

CALL FOR TERM 2 VOLUNTEERS

The MPS canteen operates Tuesday to Friday for lunch orders and is also open at recess and lunchtimes for students to buy icypoles and snacks.

The Canteen is currently looking for assistance in cooking (Tuesday), picking up Sushi from our supplier (Wednesday) and on Fridays preparing lunch orders.

All volunteers need a Working With Children Check Card  and all new volunteers must complete a brief induction through the school office, including child safe information.

Volunteering at my son's school for canteen duty has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve been doing it since my eldest son was in prep and he is now in year 8, leaving my youngest at MPS who is in Grade 6.  Not only do I get to contribute to the school community, but I also have the chance to interact with students  in a fun and positive environment. Seeing the smiles on the kids' faces when they receive their snacks or lunches makes every moment worthwhile. And nothing beats the big smile on your own child’s face when they see you behind that canteen door.  Plus, it's a fantastic way to stay involved in my son's education and connect with MPS. I highly recommend volunteering for canteen duty—it's fulfilling, enjoyable, and a great way to give back to the school community.  I would encourage every parent at MPS to give it a go at least once in your child’s time at MPS, it’s easy, it doesn’t take a lot of your time (1-1.5 hours) and is extremely rewarding.
