Attendance Guidelines

Attendance in 2025

Extended Family Holiday:

Any extended family holiday greater than 5 days requires approval by the Principal and an agreed Student Absence Learning Plan. These Student Absence Learning Plans are developed in conjunction with classroom teachers.

If your family is planning an extended break from school, please email Marcus & your classroom teacher as soon as your plans have been finalised for this planned absence to be approved.

Daily unexplained absences:

If your student is absent from school without an explanation provided in Xuno, you will receive a notification on the day of the absence asking you to log into your Xuno account to provide an explanation for the absence.

Please read the ASPS Attendance Policy for further details.

Early Departures:

Please only collect your child / children during school hours if it is unavoidable e.g. appointment that is unable to be scheduled outside school hours, family emergency, bereavement etc.

If you have to collect your child / children from school during the day, please arrange for their collection at the below times:

  • End of session 2 at 10:40am
  • End of session 4 at 12:50pm
  • End of session 5 at 2:20pm

Please email their teacher in advance and ask them to send your child / children to the office at one of the above times with their school bag so they are ready when you arrive.

Any student leaving during school hours must be signed out by a parent via the Xuno kiosk at the office. The only other people that can sign your child / children out of school must be on your list of Emergency Contacts.

Our strong preference, if you are thinking about withdrawing your child / children early to go on a family holiday or a long weekend away, is for the student not to attend school that day.

We understand that sometimes, unavoidable situations arise during the day that mean you need to unexpectedly collect your children during the day, but are hoping that by tightening up these guidelines, we can continue to minimise the disruptions to all students learning time.

Thank you in advance for your support.
