Year 9 Photography and Digital Media
On the 5th of March, Year 9 Photography and Digital Media students embarked on an exciting excursion to Dee Why Beach to practise using their cameras. They participated in a scavenger hunt with a focus on compositional arrangement, the elements of design, and the exposure triangle. Students were tasked with capturing a unique viewpoint, even though they were all photographing within the same area.
Thirteen students submitted their best photograph of the day, and each student was awarded a HEROIC award for excellence. After much deliberation, here are the overall winners!
First Place: Fergus – His photograph, using shoes as leading lines towards the subjects, was both unique and captivating.
Second Place: Holly – Her use of the rule of thirds, featuring a bird as the point of salience, combined with a cool color palette, created a stunning composition.
Third Place: Charlie – His close-up of flora, with its striking warm color palette, was particularly eye-catching.
We are extremely proud of all the students for their creativity and technical skills. Well done to everyone, especially our overall winners!
