About Dr Justin Coulson

Dr Justin Coulson is one of Australia’s leading parenting experts. He is the co-host of Channel 9’s Parental Guidance, founder of happyfamilies.com.au, and holds a PhD in Positive Psychology. With nine books, extensive media appearances (including The Washington Post and The New York Times), and viral videos reaching over 80 million views, Justin has helped countless families navigate the challenges of parenting. He and his wife Kylie have been married since the late 1990s and are proud parents of six daughters.

About the session

Is your child struggling with setbacks? Do you worry they're not equipped to handle life's challenges? "How can I help my child be more resilient?" is a question Dr Justin Coulson, renowned parenting expert, often hears from worried mums and dads.

In Resilience: Developing Strength, Calm & Kindness in Our Kids, Dr Justin will be sharing his groundbreaking approach to building resilience in children. You’ll learn the psychological secrets that build your child’s sense of identity, strengths, and growth mindset in order to perform better, be happier, and build resilience. Discover practical strategies to help your child thrive in the face of adversity and reduce your own parenting stress.

Dr Justin will explain the factors that help and hinder resilience, why common advice such as "toughen up, Princess" just doesn't work, and how competition and praise may undermine resilience.

Using powerful stories and illustrations that every parent can relate to, this session will show you how to help your child cope positively with the challenges that life throws at them.

Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to gain expert insights that will make a real difference in your family.

NCS Cross Country Carnivals

Primary Carnival

Our annual NCS Primary Cross Country Carnival is coming soon!

Thursday 27th March 2025

8:30 - 10:25am

We will congregate on the school's Southern Oval. We are hoping to have a coffee van there, so come along to watch the action and grab a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate from Frank's Espresso Coffee Van. Frank's will also have some sweet items for purchase. Catch up with other parents, friends and carers. Cheers along the competitors as they compete on our new, improved course around the school's considerable campus.

Please encourage your children to prepare by training at home after school and at weekends in the lead up. Top 5 finishers for both boys and girls from each age group in Years 3-6 will qualify for the South Coast Zone XC event on May 8th 2025 at Willandra, Brown's Mountain Road, Tapitallee.

See you at school for this excellent fun event on Thursday, Week 8.
