The Primary Drama Club is back and bigger than ever! This long-standing tradition alternates between Stage 2 and Stage 3 each year, and in 2025, it’s Year 3 and 4’s turn to take centre stage! With over 50 enthusiastic students signing up, we’ve split into two groups:
🎭 Year 4 – Guided by our amazing High School Directors, students are sharpening their acting skills through drama games and preparing preparing short play excerpts for the Eisteddfod in June.
🎭 Year 3 – Meeting at lunchtime, these budding performers are working towards a special assembly performance later this year!
What makes our Drama Club extra special? Our high school Drama students stepping up as mentors! Eight brave secondary students have jumped in as High School Directors and will direct a small group in a short play. It is a beautiful example of these Drama students using their gifts to serve the younger students. One of the privileges of being a K-12 school is the opportunities for connections to be built between the younger and older students.
Beyond Primary: Drama is Everywhere!
🎭 Secondary Play – "The Phantom Tollbooth" Exciting news! Our secondary students are diving into this classic tale, filled with kooky characters and a fantastical world. Auditions were very exciting. The cast has been announced and the first rehearsal had the whole cast and crew in attendance.
🎭 Primary Production – "Peter Pan" Meanwhile, back in Primary land, the rehearsals for Peter Pan have also begun. The students were very impressive in their auditions and the production team were struck by not only the talent, but the mature attitude to learning lines and being prepared. Lead roles are rehearsing now, and in Term 2, we’ll open up for chorus members—so stay tuned!
🎭 Stage 5 Drama - with students juggling preparing for the Eisteddfod, directing Primary students in Drama Club and rehearsing the secondary play, our Stage 5 students have their hands full of drama. But...that’s just the way they like it!
With so much happening, one thing’s for sure—Drama is alive and thriving at our school!
