Interschool tennis was a highlight of the term! It was a fun and enjoyable experience for all. Even though neither A or B team one the total points tally, we all had a great time and all enjoyed it. We played our absolute best and won our fair share of games. I hope we can represent our school and play tennis again. The B team finished in fourth place whilst the A team finished a close second behind our local rival school.
Senior Boys Volleyball

On the 17th of February, we took two Senior Boys Volleyball teams to the Monash Division Senior Volleyball competition. Across the day, there were some highlights, including some clutch moments in the third set of games, and some powerful spikes. The B team won two out of their four games, with the best player on the day being the dangerous Emmanuel Tuavai. The A team faced some tough competition and also came away with two wins out of their four games, the most valuable player being the agile and explosive Jaewon Jeon. Overall, a solid performance by the two teams, and a valuable experience. Looking forward, the A team will be competing in the One Day Schools Cup, wishing them luck.

On Monday March 3rd 2025, the Intermediate girlsand boys volleyball teams competed against other schools in a friendly yet fierce competition at the Dandenong State Volleyball Centre. The divisional winners of this competition have an opportunity to complete at the next round at the regional competition. All teams put their best efforts however, we didn't make it to the next round. Nonetheless, everyone had a great time getting active and demonstrating teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. It was a fantastic experience that allowed us to grow as players and bond as a team. Well done to everyone who participated, and we look forward to coming back even stronger next time!

On Monday the 17th of February, a group of girls, including myself, Sabra H, Ritia T, Eloise T and Annika T were selected to represent South Oakleigh College in the senior division interschool sports cup for volleyball. The whole day was lots of fun with excitement, teamwork and sportsmanship being displayed by everyone. Our team were proud to place second out of the five schools just coming short of beating Wellington and coming out with a 4-streak win. I’d like to thank all the girls for showing their fantastic volleyball skills with Eloise’s and Annika’s amazing defense, Ritia’s flawless serving streaks and Sabra, (who was our captain) with her exceptional spiking, all winning us points. I’d also like to thank the teachers who organised the day for us, especially Mr Fernandez for training us and our coach Mrs Jenkins for stepping up and supporting us on the day.

On the 3rd Marh, our intermediate year 9-10 Volleyball A team had our inter school volleyball tournament. Our team consisted of Rio Barret, Agam Bhatia, Nathan Haggai, Oscar Mckeown, Sasha Engel, Andrew Mcrae, Xavier Harvey. They all preformed really well against the other four schools, winning two out of the four matches, unfortunately we lost against two of our rival schools which left us in 3rd place in the draw overall. Interschool sport: Year 7/8 Boys Tennis
On Tuesday 25th March, the year 7 and 8 boys played in the Monash Division interschool tennis event at Pinewood Tennis Club. The boys had been training consistently and it was pleasing to see this pay off on the day. The boys took the opportunity to display not only their skills, but their teamwork and sportsmanship whilst competing against the other schools. The year 7 boys came third in their division whilst the year 8 boys won their division and will be through to the next round in November 2025. A special shout out to the year 9 students who came to help on the day – Caelan, Troy and Damian, the day ran a lot smoother with them there to assist with coaching and scoring.
Year 7/8 Girls Tennis
Written by Liyah Soju, Year 8
On Monday 24 of march the years 7 and 8 girls went to Eildon Park tennis club in Rowville for the division tennis competition. We played against Brentwood and Wheelers Hill. Both year levels had a singles team and a double team. Although our school came third, we played hard in every match and made some new friends along the way. It was a fun experience, and all the girls enjoyed themselves. Good job to all to everyone who played and to the teachers who came and supported us. We look forward to playing again next year.
