New Student Forums

As we move through the school year, one of the most exciting developments has been the introduction of Student Forums. These forums have quickly become a powerful tool for gaining insight into how we, as students, feel about our experiences at school, and more importantly, how we can work together to make our school community even stronger.

From the very beginning, our aim has been to create an open space where every student’s voice can be heard. We know that sometimes it can be hard to express concerns or share suggestions in a traditional classroom setting, which is why these forums are such a valuable opportunity. Whether it's discussing what makes an inspiring teacher, how we can improve participation in class activities, or what aspects of school life need attention, the forums have allowed us to openly share our ideas and opinions.

As College Captains, we’re truly driven by student voice. We believe that this is a powerful tool for positive change, and we’re excited to be a part of making our school environment better for everyone. We see this as a chance to hear directly from our peers—not just from a leadership perspective, but as students who are genuinely interested in shaping the school’s future in a way that reflects what we all value.

Throughout the forums, we’ve been able to hear from students at every year level about what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Each year level has its own unique perspective, and it’s interesting to see how students’ priorities shift depending on where they are in their school journey. Whether it’s about academic pressure in senior years or how to make social events more inclusive in the lower years, the forums have given us a deeper understanding of what’s important to different year levels.

Moreover, the forums have encouraged collaboration among students as we discuss ways to improve areas like communication between students and staff, the quality of extracurricular opportunities, and even mental health support. These open discussions have allowed us to consider diverse perspectives and come up with practical solutions that benefit everyone in our school community.

As we continue to run the  forums over the next few weeks, we’re excited to see how our collective voices can drive positive change. It’s a unique and empowering opportunity to actively shape the future of our school, and we encourage every student to get involved, share their thoughts, and be an active participant in these conversations. Together, we can create a school environment where every student feels heard, valued, and supported.

See you at Open Night!
