Connect SEL Program: Building Leadership, Connections, and Growth

This past fortnight, the Connect program has been buzzing with energy and growth as students have focused on enhancing their leadership skills and fostering meaningful connections across year levels. It has been truly inspiring to witness how these young individuals are embracing the opportunity to communicate and collaborate, and we are excited to share the highlights from this week.

A particularly noteworthy moment came from our Year 7 students, who have been taking bold steps in building relationships with their older peers. One standout student in this effort has been Angus Dinnage year 10, who has gone above and beyond in connecting with our Year 7 students. Gus has shown exceptional communication skills and maturity, truly exemplifying the spirit of leadership we aim to cultivate in the program. His efforts are a great example of how leadership isn’t just about taking charge—it’s about making connections, listening, and encouraging others to grow. Gus’s contributions are deserving of recognition!

Alongside these exciting developments, our outdoor garden space is also nearing completion. The garden, which is part of the Connect initiative, is almost ready for planting vegetables and herbs. We’re looking forward to working with the students to cultivate this space and turn it into a thriving area for everyone to enjoy. The project offers not only an opportunity for environmental learning but also a way for students to engage in hands-on activities that encourage teamwork and responsibility.

As we continue to nurture both leadership and growth in our students, we are excited about the impact these experiences will have in shaping their personal and academic journeys. The connections they are making now will carry forward, creating a strong and supportive community for all students to thrive in.
