The Summer Reading Shield is awarded to the House that earned the most points by House members reading over the summer.
Congratulations to Collier House (yellow) for winning the Summer Reading Shield for the second time. The Shield was accepted by the Collier House Captains during an invitation-only event in the Library on Thursday where we celebrated all those who entered, along with members of the Book Club.
Well done to everyone who contributed to the Reading Shield this year and congratulations to those students who won the lucky draw. Thank you to Principal Wallis who attended the event and spoke about the importance of reading. All points will contribute to the House Cup at the end of the year.
A reminder that Resident Writers closes Sunday 16 March. A quick summary: as a rough guide works should be between 250 -350 words, shorter ok but not significantly longer. Send your entries to library@wantirnacollege.vic.edu.au with the subject line Resident Writers entry. If it is a Family & Friends submission, please mention which student or staff member you are connected to.
A reminder that applications for the 2025 Readings Teen Advisory Board close 5pm, Monday 24 March. Students who would like to be part of a reading group that meets monthly online, gets free books, and have a work experience day at a publishing house can apply toteenadvisoryboard@readings.com.au
