Rehearsals for our school’s production of Chicago: Teen Edition are officially underway, and the excitement is already building! Over the past two weeks, our talented cast has been diving into their roles, learning lines, practising choreography, and bringing the show’s iconic musical numbers to life.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, students keen to be part of the Tech Crew recently auditioned for key backstage roles. From lighting and sound to set design and stage management, these students will play a crucial part in the production's success.
Next weekend, our cast and crew will be heading off to camp for an intensive weekend of rehearsals, bonding, and plenty of fun! This will be a fantastic opportunity for students to refine their performances, work closely with their directors, and build the teamwork that will bring Chicago to life on stage.
With opening night set for August, there’s still plenty of work ahead—but the energy and enthusiasm from everyone involved are already setting the stage for an incredible show. Stay tuned for more updates as the journey to Chicago continues!
Please note that the Percussion Soiree has had a date change to 27 March and due to circumstances outside of our control, the Voice Soiree has been cancelled. Voice students will be performing at the Open Night and this will constitute the assessment part of the Voice Soiree.
It was a delightful evening on Wednesday when the College Piano students gathered in the Theatre to perform in the Term 1 Piano Soirée. Mr Luke Champion and Mr Stuart Andrew were thrilled with all the performers, especially the many new students who were performing for the first time! Thanks to all the friends and families who came along and supported the fabulous Instrumental Music Program.
Our annual Staff Concert fundraiser was another great success! Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and came along. This event raised over $1300 for our Performing Arts Program. Thank you to Mr Lewis and the Tech Crew for once again making us look and sound great, to Ms Wallis for being a very entertaining MC, to the Performing Arts Captains for their assistance and the Parents of Performing Arts committee for running front of house.
A huge thank you to all the staff who volunteered to participate, with a very special mention to our non-Music staff, Karen Priest, Jane Walker, AJ Abellera, Kevin Hawkins, Sam Wills, Hayley Myers, Beth Hallet, Jenny Silalahi & our extra special surprise guest, Peter Cameron!
