Principal Report

Dear Families,

Thank you so much for the way you have welcomed me into the Dana Street community. It has been a pleasure getting to know the students, staff and families, and I am trying to remember some new names each and every day. I really enjoyed celebrating our students this morning, and I especially love the school song! Please come and introduce yourself when you see me around.  I am in the yard most mornings and afternoons and would love to meet you. 

We have some fabulous school events coming up in the next couple of weeks. Next Tuesday night is our Community Picnic. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with each other and the Dana Street staff in a relaxing atmosphere. We will have gelato and a coffee van on-site. Please bring your own picnic with you. 

The following Tuesday, the 6 March, we will be holding our Athletics Carnival at Llanberis Reserve. The students have been working hard in PE to prepare for the events, and we can’t wait to see which house will win. 

School Council Elections

On Monday, I will send out information about the elections for our 2026 school council. Last Tuesday, we held the final meeting with the current council. 

Between 5.30-5.45, towards the end of the picnic, the current school council members and I will be in the Spielvogel Centre to answer any questions you may have, tell you a bit about the School Council and also other ways you can contribute to our school. We hope to see many of you there.
