Acting Principal's Message
Elizabeth Sarpa
Dear Families,
I hope you have had a wonderful couple of weeks and that you are finding yourselves settling into the rhythm and flow of the term. On one hand it feels like we just started, on the other hand we have hit the ground running and the weeks are rolling along with so much activity, enthusiam, growth and excitement. May March and the beginning of the season of Autumn bring you and your loved ones countless blessings in the form of love, joy and peace. In the quiet moments, may you reflect on all the small successes you and your children have experienced so far this year, and a reminder to take a moment to celebrate these things. They may seem small, but many small, positive moments add up to a whole lot to celebrate and be grateful for in everyday life.
As a staff, we have spent time this past week sharing successes and celebrating our students' growth, and the joy is contagious. We are so proud of our students and so thankful for our families' support as we work together to lift our students not only academically, but as members of a community with strong, visible values of BELONGING, COMPASSION and GROWTH.
Next week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will be taking part in NAPLAN. These assessments provide a snapshot of how students are progressing in literacy and numeracy and help schools plan for future learning.
All we are encouraging is that students simply try their best and approach the assessments with confidence. At school, we will continue to focus on reassuring students that NAPLAN is just one way to show what they know. NAPLAN does not measure creativity, social skills, resilience, emotional intelligence, or talents in areas like art, music, and physical education.
We are proud of the effort our students put into their learning every day and encourage them to do their best.
Next week, our Year 3 students will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please read the Religious Education and Faith Formation page of this newsletter for more information. We thank Michelle Peel and the Year 3 Team for all their work in preparing the students for this very special occasion.
If you have completed the SoGS Volunteer Workshop and are able to help out in the canteen on Wednesday and/or Friday mornings, please contact Gloria on 0403 128 543, even if you are only able to help out occasionally.
We are very excited to announce a special project led by Maria Tasevski and the SRC called VALUES IN ACTION. This wonderful initiative promotes our school values through everyday actions. By showing kindness, respect, and responsibility, students create a ripple effect that inspires others. Small positive choices can spread across the school, helping build a supportive, caring community where everyone feels valued. The project encourages students to give compliments, invite others to play, use their manners, share a smile, offer help, encourage their peers, be a good sport and many other positive actions! These small, everyday acts will lead to students receiving points for their house, contributing to the total which is tallied each week. A little bit of kindness goes a long way!
Thank you Mrs Tasevski for supporting our students to be their best selves at school each day.
We are now seeking Expressions of Interest from members of our community. Please consider the opportunity and read the attached letter for more information:
We hope you can join us!

Kind regards,
Elizabeth Sarpa
