Worth Knowing

Supporting families with SchoolTV

Ms Martine Walls,

Head of Character and Wellbeing

At Kilvington, we believe wellbeing is strongest when school and home work in partnership. As young people navigate an increasingly complex world, access to trusted, evidence-based guidance can make a real difference.

To support our families, Kilvington has partnered with SchoolTV, a wellbeing resource designed to complement our existing Character and Wellbeing framework. SchoolTV provides expert-led insights and practical strategies on topics affecting children and adolescents today - including cyber safety, healthy bodies, navigating relationships, diversity and inclusion, and positive parenting. Each topic brings together interviews with leading specialists and carefully curated resources to support informed, constructive conversations at home.

SchoolTV also offers free webinars throughout the year featuring global experts who share practical, research-informed advice on key mental health and wellbeing concerns.

Families can access SchoolTV via KCEE and are encouraged to sign up for alerts within topics of interest to stay informed as new content and webinars are released throughout the year.

Getting involved in life at Kilvington

Bianca Lapins, Community Relations Officer

One of the strengths of Kilvington is the sense of connection that exists between families. There are many ways to become involved in school life, whether through supporting events, volunteering your time or simply building relationships within your Year Level.

Our Parents and Friends Association plays a central role in bringing families together through initiatives such as Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls and breakfasts, the pop-up canteen at Senior School Athletics and the Kilvington Cares food delivery program. These activities not only support our students but also help foster a welcoming and inclusive community.

Class Social Representatives (CSRs) also play an important part in this connection, organising informal catch-ups throughout the year so families can get to know one another and feel part of the broader school experience.
