Homework

We would like to thank the parents who attended our recent CAFE sessions focused on the Homework Policy. During these meetings, we were able to clarify questions raised by parents regarding the policy.
As shared at the meeting, the Homework Policy was developed in 2025 and was informed by survey data collected from parents, teachers and students. This ensured the policy reflected the views and needs of our wider school community. Feedback from the parent Google Form showed a strong preference for weekly homework that includes a combination of online and paper-based tasks, with flexibility for families to catch up over the weekend if needed. This data was reflected in our policy.
The homework grid has been designed to cater for a range of learning abilities within each class. Students are expected to work within the allocated time and complete as many tasks as they can during that period. Once the allocated time has been reached, students stop working. This provides teachers with valuable information about what students are able to complete.
As children engage with their homework, we encourage families to support the development of positive and consistent routines. Establishing these routines plays an important role in building the skills students will need as they progress through their education.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding homework, please contact your child’s classroom teacher through the school office.
