Lent
As we begin the season of Lent, we are invited to pause, reflect and renew our hearts in preparation for Easter. Lent is a sacred time to focus on prayer, fasting and almsgiving—three ways we can draw closer to God and others. At home, you might observe Lent by praying together before meals, choosing a small act of kindness each day, or giving up something special to remind ourselves of the sacrifices Jesus made for us. Simple gestures like attending Sunday Mass together or helping someone in need can make this season deeply meaningful and moving.
Encounter Day
Last week, our year six students joined with peers from across the Parramatta Diocese for a day of prayer, reflection and encounter with Jesus through adoration. Guided by uplifting music led by Gen Bryant, the students joyfully participated in song and engaged deeply with Scripture connected to their Religious Education focus on Human Dignity. Through journaling and meaningful discussion, they explored what it means to recognise and honour the God-given worth of every person. This sacred experience nourished their faith, strengthened their sense of community and inspired a renewed curiosity about their relationship with God.
Catholic Schools Week
Next week, we celebrate Catholic Schools Week across our diocese. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the gift of Catholic education and the sense of community and belonging that faith brings. This year’s theme, “Belong to something greater,” reminds us that we are part of a faith community that nurtures hearts and minds for life. We warmly invite all families to join us for our Catholic Schools Week Liturgy on Monday, 2nd March at 9:00am. At this celebration we will be commissioning our Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be a lovely way to gather as a community in prayer and celebration.
