Assistant Principal's Message

School Uniform
At St Margaret Mary's, we take pride in our school uniform as an expression of our community identity and the values of dignity, respect and belonging that are central to a Catholic education. We ask families to support us in upholding our uniform expectations so that every student feels a sense of pride in representing our school community.
Next week, our staff will be placing a special focus on school uniforms, and we warmly invite your partnership in this effort. When our students wear their uniform with care and pride, it reflects the dignity and sense of belonging that lies at the heart of our St Margaret Mary's community.
We kindly ask that before school each morning, families take a moment to ensure their child is dressed in full uniform. In particular, we are drawing attention to the following:
Girls wear their blue/white summer dress at knee length, sky Trafalgar crew socks, black polished school shoes, and their navy sloppy joe or microfibre jacket with emblem. A navy school hat or cap is also required. No jewellery is to be worn to school and earring need to be studs or small sleepers. If children need to wear a necklace it needs to be underneath their uniform. Hair must be tied back if longer than shoulder length.
Boys wear grey shorts, a blue short sleeve shirt with emblem, grey ankle socks, black polished school shoes, and their navy sloppy joe or microfibre jacket with emblem. A navy school hat or cap is also required. No jewellery is to be worn to school and earring need to be studs or small sleepers. If children need to wear a necklace it needs to be underneath their uniform. Hair must be tied back if longer than shoulder length.
Your support makes a genuine difference, and we are deeply grateful for the partnership we share in forming young people of character, faith and pride.
Bounce Back - Building Resilience Together.
All students at St Margaret Mary's are currently engaging in a Personal Development and Health program called Bounce Back. This positive education curriculum program supports the wellbeing, resilience and social and emotional learning of every child across our school, and aims to create a positive, safe and supportive learning community through a shared language and understanding of wellbeing and resilience.
When our whole school community speaks the same language around wellbeing, we strengthen the fabric of care and connection that makes St Margaret Mary's such a special place to learn and grow. We encourage you to ask your child about Bounce Back and the conversations happening in their classroom. The more our families are part of this journey, the stronger and more resilient our community becomes together.
