It’s Music time in Performing Arts!
What a fantastic start to 2025 in the Performing arts space, it has been full of fun, exploration, and lots of music.
The Preps have been making connections between music, movement and emotions, and singing lots of songs and rhymes! They have enjoyed using instruments to play along with songs and moving around the room to different music, expressing their emotions by using facial expression and body language.
The Year 1 students have been writing and clapping rhythms and exploring a variety of music and instruments. They have looked at what music is and where we can find it in the world around us. We are also starting to learn a song about the Aboriginal Six Noongar Seasons and looking at different indigenous instruments.
The Year 2 students have been looking at and sorting music instruments into their families. The students have explored the elements of music, such as dynamics, where they had to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while changing the volume of their voices. They also used their amazing singing voices to practice the solfege scale. Their favourite song to sing this term has been Lucy Locket.
Performing Arts Club:
On Wednesdays 2nd break a variety of students from P- 6 have come to enjoy and explore a range of instruments. The students have been playing instruments from all around the world, experimenting to see how each of them makes their sounds.
