Also, thank you to all the parents who transported your children to this event. Even if they don’t say it, I am sure your children are extremely grateful for all that you do for them.
Well done to our runners who competed on the day; Charlotte Wehr, Roy Watson, Ayla Watson, Ivy Watson, Teal Taylor, Sam Stephens, Harry Smith, Charlie Schalk, Matilda Schalk, Eva Poschelk, Matthew Pietsch, Joshua Pietsch, Sophie Pietsch, Sophia Nugent, Alec Newberry, Lucy Newberry, Lara Newberry, Charlotte Neville, Kash McPhillips, Sophia McLeod, Lewis Masterson, Caitlin Kneipp, Karter Jones, Emily Halloran, Cotton Gray, Chase Gelhaar, Strauss Dodds, Clayton Cooper, Theodore Clifton, Jimmy Chard, Isobel Brummell, Milani Betts and Sam Barratt. All of us in the St Joseph’s community are very proud of your efforts.
ACS Winter Trials
Friday 2nd May, Jimmy Chard and Sam Barratt travelled to Bathurst to compete at the Polding Trials for Rugby League. The Armidale Diocese team played extremely well together both in attack and defence and held their own either drawing or winning their games. Jimmy had a challenging day having to play a variety of positions due to injury and he definitely rose to the occasion. He even scored a couple of tries for the team as a flying winger. Sam motored all day in second row with determined attack and defence. Despite not advancing to Possibles and Probables, these boys played some excellent football and should be proud of their efforts. We had 4 boys from the Diocese picked in the Possibles and Probables, with one boy, Hugo Sisson from Guyra being selected in the Polding team for the second year in a row. What an achievement!
Special mention to our Katie McMeniman who was the Armidale Diocese 12 Years Boys Team Manager and Coach. For years, Katie has undertaken this role and her experience and commitment to school sport is to be admired and congratulated. Thank you Katie for all you do for our school and the Diocese.
