School Container Deposit Scheme Update

We are thrilled to share some exciting news about our school’s Container Deposit Scheme! Thanks to the incredible support of our community and families, we have successfully reached our goal of collecting 5,000 cans and bottles. What an amazing effort from everyone!

As we continue this fantastic initiative, we are now starting to see the "drips" come off the bottle on our chart, indicating the next 100 increments. It’s a visual representation of how much we've raised and a fun way to track our progress. We are incredibly grateful to all the families who have taken the time to bring in their bottles and cans for deposit. Your efforts not only help us raise funds but also contribute to a more sustainable future.

This collection is so important for our environment. Every bottle and can returned for recycling reduces waste and helps conserve our planet’s precious resources. We are proud to be part of this collective effort, and we couldn’t have done it without each of you.

We encourage families to continue donating their cans and bottles to the school bins, and we also remind you to bring in your empty and washed coffee cups and lids for deposit in the Simply Cups 7-Eleven canister bins just beside the big blue container desposit bins (See picture below). Let’s work together to save these items from going to landfill and give them a second life through recycling!

The Guardians are currently brainstorming ideas for how we can best use the funds raised. Some possibilities include supporting our dream of creating an Indigenous Native Australian Garden, purchasing a garden shed, or developing a kitchen garden. These projects will not only enhance our school environment but also provide valuable learning opportunities for our students.

Thank you once again to all the families who have contributed to this amazing achievement. Your involvement is making a real difference, and we look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together as we continue to work towards even bigger goals.

Let’s keep up the great work, and remember—every bottle and can counts!
