Celebrating Catholic Education Week 2025

It was a sea of green on Monday 17th March as we celebrated St Patrick's Day to mark the start of Catholic Education Week. It was also extra special as we had the BIG reveal with the announcement of the school production. Cheers rang through the learning spaces and all the way to my office as 'The Wizard of Oz' was named as our 2025 production. Children were delighted to watch the video as they became familiar with the story line and music from the classic movie.

On Friday we had 11 Year 6 students accompanied bt Rozeta and Peacelyne who represented our school at St Patrick's Cathedral for the Mass for Catholic Schools in the Melbourne Archdiocese. t the Mass a new picture of St Patrick was unveiled. The children enjoyed a lovely concert in the park after Mass.

We give thanks for the example of our patron St Patrick the name given to our Cathedral, let’s pray his famous ‘Lorica’ (or ‘Breastplate’) – the prayer he sang in the face of those who wished to prevent him from spreading the word of God:

‘Christ with me,

Christ before me,

Christ behind me,

Christ in me,

Christ beneath me,

Christ above me,

Christ on my right,

Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down,

Christ when I sit down,

Christ when I arise.’

St Patrick, pray for us.

Important Safety Reminder –

  • Crossing the Street Safely

The safety of our students is our top priority, and we kindly ask for your help in ensuring that drop-off and pick-up times remain as safe as possible. When crossing the street outside the school, please remember to:

Always use the designated crosswalks – Avoid crossing in the middle of the road or between parked cars.

Hold your child’s hand – Younger children may get distracted or misjudge traffic, so keeping a firm hold helps keep them safe.

Look both ways before crossing – Teach your child to stop, look, and listen before stepping onto the street.

Follow the crossing supervisor's instructions – If a crossing guard is present, please wait for their signal before proceeding.

Avoid distractions – Put away phones and headphones to stay fully aware of your surroundings.

Be a role model – Children learn by watching, so setting a good example reinforces safe habits.

Safe Parking

Drivers parking around the school are reminded to follow the Road Rules.

Parking cars on Nature Strips or driving a car over a nature strip is NOT permitted when you are dropping or picking up your child from school. We have had some near misses reported and we do not want any accidents with children or adults injured.

Please RESPECT our neighbours and do NOT block anyone's driveway.

We are so fortunate to have ample car parking opportunities around the school.

Please support us to keep children safe and display respect and safe driving etiquette.

Police have been notified by concerned parents and fines will apply.

By following these simple steps, we can work together to create a safer environment for all students. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to safety!
