From the Principal

Hi everyone,

We had a great athletics carnival last week with our 3-6 event at Bill Stewart Reserve and our F-2 event here at school. Thank you to Mr Liston for his organisation of these events - also to our staff for their dedication in helping all students have a successful day. I would also like to say a big thank you to the parents who helped with the activities across the day - without your support the events would not have been as successful as they were.

Speaking of volunteering to help here at school, we will be looking for parent helpers across the junior school in the coming weeks, so please if you can spare 10 minutes at drop off or pick up times to read with some students that would be amazing.

Melissa Crozier has also sent out some Compass notifications seeking support in running our Fiesta. Without parent support we cannot run this event, which is such an amazing event for the local community, past students as well as our current students. It would be a pity to have to cancel the Fiesta, but we may be faced with having to make this difficult decision in the coming days as we do not, at present, have the support required for the event.

On Monday I attended the Halogen Conference with our school leaders. This is a fantastic event and one we take the leaders to each year. This year the speakers were Thomas Duncan - Watt, an author and screen writer, Catherine Laga’aia, who will be Moana in the upcoming live release in 2026, Emma McKeon, retired swimmer of Olympic fame, and Majak Daw, retired AFL footballer, who all spoke about dreaming big, persistence and the importance of teamwork. There are some photos of the students with the speakers below, which we posted to our socials as well.

We are looking forward to our Cross Country this Friday and finding out which houses won which events in coming weeks!

Enjoy the long weekend!
