Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to the many families who joined us for our joyous 95th Anniversary Mass last Friday. It was a day rich in history and gratitude as we came together to honour the Ursuline Order and give thanks for its enduring legacy.
We were privileged to have Bishop Danny Meagher preside over the Mass, concelebrated with Fr Richard. Our students were a credit to our school, displaying reverence throughout the Mass and singing beautifully.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Sedlar, Miss Biskupic, and Miss Valentinuzzi for their wonderful leadership of the junior and senior choirs. Special appreciation also goes to Mrs Barbera and Mrs Scullion for their meticulous organisation of the day, and to Mrs Ayoub and Mrs Radano for coordinating the catering, ensuring our morning tea was as exquisite as ever.
It was truly a day of joy—one that our students will remember for years to come.
We took the opportunity to celebrate the heart of Catholic Education and all that makes
our community special. Some parents and children have asked about the Latin phrase ‘Soli Deo Gloria’—‘All for the Glory of God’—which I mentioned in my speech. This is, in fact, our original school motto, well known to many in the Ursuline tradition. You will notice this motto appearing more prominently in the future. If you look above the entrance to our library building, you will see it beautifully engraved.
We are still waiting on some sibling enrolments. If you wish to secure a place for your child at St Francis Xavier in 2026, please ensure all paperwork is completed as soon as
possible.
We warmly invite parents to our termly Friends of Francis meeting, held in the Kindergarten classroom at 7pm. I will be sharing our educational and wellbeing goals for 2025, along with upcoming community events.
Before this, at 6:30pm, there will be a Child Protection Parent Volunteer Meeting for those who wish to be involved in school activities.
Our Martial Arts program has been a huge success, helping students develop patience, resilience, and teamwork skills.
Preparations for our school disco are in full swing! The event will run from 5pm to 7pm, promising a fun-filled evening for our students.
As mentioned previously, this year’s disco is not a fundraiser, and we aim to make it as easy as possible for families. Please note:
We can’t wait to see the children enjoy a fantastic evening!
