Being Well at Magill

On March 21st, we celebrate Harmony Day, a special day to recognize and embrace Australia’s rich cultural diversity. Harmony Day encourages respect, inclusion, and belonging for everyone, and it aligns with the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

On this day, we wear orange to symbolize communication, meaningful conversations, and our support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.

At our school assembly this morning, Mr. Iannunzio shared a great message with us: at Magill School, every day is Harmony Day. He reminded us that we are lucky to have students from many different cultures, and we are proud to create an environment where everyone is welcome. We are committed to treating others with respect, resolving conflicts fairly, and not tolerating racial discrimination.

Harmony Day also gives us the chance to learn about the different cultures around us. It’s a day to celebrate our differences, while coming together as one community. If you see someone today wearing something special, eating food that is unfamiliar to you, or speaking a different language, take a moment to ask them about it. Be curious and celebrate the unique mix of cultures that make our school such a special place to be.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather!

Best wishes,

The wellbeing team.
