SAPSASA News
On Wednesday the 5th of March, 9 students from years 4 to 6 attended the SAPSASA Swimming Carnival at Norwood Pool. Magill School competed in the Torrens River division against various other schools in our district.
Our students competed in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 100m open freestyle events. Our students gave their best with many coming away with first, second or third place ribbons. Heath L came 1st in the 50m breaststroke and 3rd in the 50m backstroke, Claire V came 2nd in the 50m butterfly and 3rd in the 50m breaststroke, Maddie S came 1st in the 50m butterfly and 2nd in the 50m backstroke while Lachlan H came 2nd in all of his events which were the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly. A fantastic effort from all!
While we didn’t take a huge team to the swimming carnival, the camaraderie between the students was wonderful to see. The way they supported and cheered for each other, no matter the result, and showed joy for others when they were successful was great to see.
It was nice to have so many parents and families attend and support our students and a big thanks needs to go to the parent volunteers who helped out timing events throughout the afternoon. Without this help and support from families, these days can't happen.
