Year 3 & 4 

Over the last couple of weeks our Year 3/4 students have been learning about Location. Our lessons have focussed on identifying and interpreting key features on maps, as well as creating their own maps of familiar locations. We have learnt about using keys and legends to help understand symbols and features on our maps, as well as proportional sizing. We have created floor plans of our classrooms and also used our imaginations to design our ‘dream classroom’. 

The Year 3/4 students were given a homework task that required them to draw a floor plan of their house. They needed to use what they had learnt in class to accurately depict their floor plans. They were also given a family challenge, where they compared their floor plans with their parents’ floor plans and reflected on similarities and differences. 

We are so proud of the effort that our students put into their homework task!
