Road Safety Awareness Around Our School

As our town continues to grow and change, it’s more important than ever to keep road safety front of mind—especially for our youngest learners. With the ongoing construction works around Euroa bringing increased traffic through nearby streets, we all need to work together to ensure our students stay safe when travelling to and from school.

Young children are still developing their ability to judge speed, distance, and risk. Sadly over my 40 year career I have lost 4 students to avoidable accidents . Their minds are focused on play, friendship, and curiosity, which means they can sometimes forget to stop, look, and listen before crossing the road. That’s why adult supervision and role modelling are so important. Taking the time to walk with your child, talk about safe choices, and use the designated school crossing every day helps build lifelong safety habits. Attending the funerals of my students is something that still impacts me today.

Our school crossing supervisors are there to keep everyone safe—please make sure you and your children always use the crossing and follow their directions. Avoid parking too close to the crossing or double parking, as this can block visibility and increase danger for pedestrians.

By raising awareness, modelling safe behaviours, and showing patience during busy times, we can all contribute to a safer environment for our students and wider community. Let’s continue to work together to keep every child safe on their way to and from school.

Last weekend, several of our talented students took to the stage in the captivating play Flower and Forest: A Medieval Time Loop Adventure. The story followed an unwilling hero caught in a mysterious curse that resets the same chaotic day, forcing him to outwit magic, danger, and time itself.

Harry Rowan, Ollie Capobianco, Jocelyn Riley, Georgia Harris, Bradley Robinson, and Lewis Riley all delivered magnificent performances, bringing their characters to life with confidence and flair. Their dedication and energy made the production truly memorable.

A big congratulations to each of them for their outstanding effort and talent. Mrs Robinson, Mrs Swan, and Ms Ally thoroughly enjoyed the show and were incredibly proud of the students’ achievements. Well done to everyone involved!
