Chris Bennett (Author of Roy Boy) Incursion

'These same streets, along with other haunts, saw him mucking about in the Fitzroy baths, racing and crashing a homemade billy cart, standing in the outer of the Fitzroy Footy Ground barracking ‘Carn the Roys’, catching yabbies in the Exhibition Gardens and jumping off Kanes Bridge into the Yarra River. This memoir is about an ordinary Roy Boy who experienced some extraordinary events that helped shape his life.'

French Learning

This term in French Intercultural, the Grade 3/4 students have been learning all about la durabilité et l’écologie (sustainability) and how we can make a difference for our planet. We explored how small everyday actions can help protect the Earth, like sorting our rubbish, saving water, and reusing materials.

Students learned lots of new French words and expressions such as recycler (to recycle), protéger la planète (to protect the planet), réduire les déchets (to reduce waste), and réutiliser des produits déjà utilisés (to reuse items). They then used this new vocabulary to create amazing, colourful posters encouraging everyone to take care of our world.

Their posters were full of creativity, positive messages, and thoughtful ideas about how we can all be more eco-friendly — and all written in French! The students were so proud to share their work and show that even small actions can have a big impact. Bravo à tous nos élèves pour leur excellent travail!

(Well done to all of our students for their excellent work!).
