3/4 CLASSROOM

This fortnight in the grade 3/4 room we have been exploring a variety of learning areas.
In religion we have been looking at how our small acts of kindness can be shared an contribute to a happier self and happier community.
In inquiry we have been looking at rocks and minerals. We have conducted some study on minerals that we have around us such as aluminium, gold and salt. We have also done some research into how humans use different rocks and minerals. We found out that diamonds have more than one use. As well as being jewellery they can be used to cut and drill in industrial use!
During maths we have been looking at data. We collected some data from bags of M&M's to graph the results. We were able to separate the M&M's into groups of 10 for quick counting. We then used excel to generate digital graphs of our data.
During art we have been focusing on some of the elements of art such as colour, line, texture and shape. The grade 3/4 class have done an excellent job at creating semi abstract art pieces inspired by artists Moira Hazel and Grotti Lotti. Each student selected an Australian landscape to create their art piece.
