Student Learning

Foundation
In Mappen students learnt about the different materials in nature that the indigenous people made things with. Students then learnt how to weave.
In writing the preps have been planning and publishing narrative stories and are getting very creative. They love sharing them with the class.
During numeracy students have been learning to count by 2's.
Students have also been using the big number line to work out missing numbers when they were covered.
Year 1/2
Writing – We’ve been learning how to use talking marks in our writing to show when characters are speaking. The students have had fun adding dialogue to their stories and practising how to punctuate speech correctly.
Maths – This week, the students have been revising how to tell the time using both analogue and digital clocks.
Phonics – Our focus has been on homophones — words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings (like two, too, and to). The students have enjoyed using them in writing and spotting them in their reading too.
Sport – The students had lots of fun playing volleyball! They showed great energy and teamwork while practising their serving and rallying skills.
Art – To celebrate Halloween, the students loved creating their own haunted houses! They used a variety of materials and plenty of imagination to bring their spooky designs to life.
Year 3/4
3/4 students have started out author study unit, our author is Margaret Wild. We have been using some of the themes in her books to inspire our own stories. Fantastic start to Term 4, students are ready to learn!
Year 5/6
