SWIMMING FOR SPORT 

Swimming for Sport will commence this Term in Week 4 on a Wednesday and will continue for Weeks 5 and 6 also. All staff will be at the pool during these water activities and children will be participating in relays and games. Following Swimming for Sport all Sacred Heart children will be participating in Aquatic Skills during all of Week 7, Monday to Friday. We will have two highly qualified instructors from Gunnedah; Louise Shanley and Maxine Kiellor taking groups each day and working on learn to swim and stroke correction. Children that aren't swimming with these instructors will be swimming with other staff for the week. Confident swimmers will be working on water safety and endurance. A Compass Event will be created for both swimming programs tomorrow for parents to give permission.

DIOCESAN TRIALS

Touch Football Carnival 

We are invited to nominate  individual players for the Armidale Diocesan Touch Football Carnival. Students in Year 3 - 6 are welcome to attend. This is an open division therefore, Year 3 players will be playing against Year 6 players. As we are a small school, individual players will be added into teams.

Event Date: Friday 3rd November 2023. It will commence at 9:30 am but we ask all children to arrive at 9:00 am. Trials are expected to finish at approximately 3:00 pm. 

Event Venues:  The Inverell Sporting Complex. Eucalypt Drive, off Tingha Road. 

Nominations due: to school by Monday 23rd October 2023.

Tennis & Basketball trials for 2024 team.

As the Polding trials for Tennis and Basketball will be held on the 9th February in 2024 in Coffs Harbour, the Armidale Diocesan Tennis and Basketball Trials will be held in Tamworth on Friday 1st December 2023. All Year 5 and exceptional Year 4 students are encouraged to nominate.

Event Date: Friday 1st December 2023. Trials commence at 9:30 am but we ask all children to arrive at 9:00 am. Trials are expected to finish at approximately 2:00 pm. 

 Event Venue: 

 Basketball (Boys & Girls): Tamworth Sports Dome, Jack Smyth Drive, Tamworth. 

 Tennis (Girls & Boys): Belmore Park Tennis Courts, 16 Gidley Street, Tamworth. 

  Nominations due: to school by Wednesday 22nd November 2023.

 N.B. It will be the responsibility of parents to transport their own children to these  trials.
