Wow! What a week!
It seems like the production has been creeping up on us slowly, and after hours and hours of rehearsals it was AMAZING to finally see the final products come together. All the teachers are so incredibly proud of the Year 3 and 4 students for learning their choreography, singing the lyrics proudly and absolutely dancing the Knight away!
We hope the parents enjoyed attending as much as the students loved putting on the show for you!

Grade 3
Grade 3 - Edendale Community Farm Excursion
On Wednesday 8th November, Grade 3 students will be attending an excursion to Edendale Community Environment Farm. At the farm students will be participating in small workshops to learn more about recycling, waste management and composting as well as completing a farm tour! This will be a great link to the things we will be learning about in the classroom over the next few weeks, and also a great way to see many of the things we speak about in a real life environment.
Students will need to bring their hats with them, and pack a water bottle and lunch box in a small bag or back pack. Weather appropriate clothing is encouraged - hopefully we have a lovely day and no rain!
We also ask that all students arrive at school no later than 8.45am. We will still meet in classrooms before we walk over to the bus!
Inquiry - T-shirt Tote Bags!
This fortnight, students in Year 3 got to recycle old tshirts into some cool tote bags! It was a great way to learn about fast fashion and the impact of the fashion industry on landfill.
The Four Rs for Reducing Waste:
Refuse: say no to something!
Reduce: try using less of something!
Reuse: reuse the item for the same of different purpose instead of throwing it away!
Recycle: choose products that can be recycled!
Here are the students from 3KY modelling their lovely new bags!
Friendology
Last week, Mrs Mann spoke to the Year 3 students about talking kindly to each other, quick comebacks and standing up for yourself! It was a nice reminder to everyone that what we say matters and how we respond to 'mean on purpose' behaviour is so important. In class, students have been learning about how to have positive friendships through the URStrong Friendology program. We hope some of the new terms they are learning have made their way home.
Shout Outs
This week our theme for Shout Outs was 'Production Super Stars'! We are super proud of all the Year Three students, however these students were seen stepping outside their comfort zone, helping other students, displaying great behaviour in the auditorium on the night and putting all their effort into their performance. Well done, Super Stars!

Melbourne Aquarium Excursion
As part of their Term 4 Inquiry studies, the Year 4 students will be travelling to the Melbourne Aquarium next Friday, 10th of November. We ask that all students arrive at school between 8.30 - 8.45 and go straight into their classrooms. Buses for the excursion will be departing from Terrara Road at 9am sharp.
Please make sure your child comes to school dressed in normal school uniform. They should bring a packed snack, lunch, water bottle and hat. As we will be going outside for lunch, it would also be advisable for them to bring either a raincoat or sunscreen depending on weather conditions (hopefully nice and sunny).
If you have any questions about the excursion, please contact your child's classroom teacher.
Year 4 Literacy
Year 4 students had a lot of fun during Week 5 by investigating the lyrics of some popular songs to see where the song-writers had used different forms of poetic language devices. Some of the most common devices that were recognised by students were:
Metaphors, Similes, Repetition and Rhyme.
Students were then able to write their own songs, featuring a variety of language devices, before performing them in front of small groups.
4PS students performing their song to a small audience
