Principal Report

  • WORLD TEACHERS DAY TOMORROW 27TH OCTOBER

World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity for our community to celebrate the outstanding work of our teachers at Albany Rise. Each of our teaching staff commit 100% to ensure the best outcomes for all our students through their passion and dedication.

World Teachers’ Day is celebrated in Australia on 27th October, and internationally in the first week of October each year in more than 100 countries world wide. We hope that our community takes this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the wonderful work of our teachers at Albany Rise.

We will be celebrating World Teachers’ Day by having some special recognition opportunities at Assembly on Friday 27th October. We will also have 3 students taking on the role of ‘Principal for a Day’- we hope everyone appreciates the wonderful work of all of our staff at ARPS.

Students and families can get involved with World Teacher Day by sending a message of thanks to a teacher who is making, or has made, an impact on your life using #thanksvicteachers on social media. Don’t forget to tag the Department of Education and Training (the department) so we can see all your messages.

Head to the department’s World Teachers Day webpage for resources to help you celebrate World Teachers’ Day 2023, including ‘Thank You’ card templates.

DAY FOR DANIEL TOMORROW  - 27TH OCTOBER

Tomorrow, students will be encouraged to WEAR RED❤ for Day for Daniel. This day is Australia’s largest child safety education and awareness day.

In 2023 the theme is CONSENT and Day for Daniel will focus on helping students understand and identify and when something doesn’t feel right or safe and when to talk to a trusted adult.

YOU CAN FIND MORE ABOUT ‘Day for Daniel’ here: https://danielmorcombe.com.au/day-for-daniel/

Our Musical ‘ The Primary Production Problem’

We have been thrilled by the positive feedback and enjoyment that has been evident from our two nights of performances at Wellington Secondary College, last week. All of the students involved did such an amazing job! As did all of our parent helpers, staff, main cast, and a host of community supporters.

We are eager to seek feedback from the production and would value any input from our school community.

Thanks everyone for your support and participation in this wonderful learning and community event.

By-election at ARPS 18th November

An upcoming by-election is planned to occur at ARPS to determine our ‘new’ local member. As usual the school will be running an election day fundraising BBQ - please help out by putting you name on the roster for that day.

Parents are reminded that the Staff Car parks at the front and rear of the school are not for parent parking. Parents with a valid disabled pass may use the designated space at the front of the school..
