Around The Rooms

Senior Team

This Term on Wednesday afternoons the Senior Team has been buzzing with the introduction of Electives. This has seen our senior students have the opportunity to pick one of the following electives to participate in every week either H.P.E, Food Tech, Visual Art or Drama. We have asked the students to try and pick an elective that would challenge them outside of their comfort zone and most students have taken up the challenge, which has been fantastic to see.

So far, the feedback from both students and teachers has been amazing with everyone enjoying this additional program, this also helps in giving our soon to be graduating students a chance to understand electives and how they work as they move into their next phase of education at various high schools.

A big thank you to Mr. M, Mr Reynolds and Mrs G who have helped running these programs to ensure the students were able to have a variety of choices.

Middle Years

Last week, Grade 3/4s enjoyed an enormously successful camp at Camp Angahook, in Airey's Inlet. This is a favourite camp destination, which has become an eagerly anticipated tradition, through our school's involvement over many years. The staff are absolutely wonderful, the facilities are top notch, and the activities are very exciting - with just the right amount of challenge for our students.  It was wonderful to see how our students stepped up to their challenges and demonstrated their resilience and capability, and bolstered connections to their friends and peers through some amazing teamwork, support and encouragement. As teachers, we love the chance to get to know our students more and are always delightfully surprised by their strength of character and sense of humour which we get to see in this different environment. A huge thank you to all our amazing Grade 3/4 students, and to their fabulous parents who support their children's involvement in the very important learning activities that are provided through the camp program.

Here are some photos of the action for you to enjoy:

Activities rotation included: hut building, low ropes course, high swing and archery. Beach day activities included walking to the beach, a walk to the Split Point Lighthouse and to see the beach caves, beach olympics including Tug 'o' War, and paddling. Night 1's activity was s'mores around the campfire, and night 2's activities were our concert and disco.

Junior years

On Thursday the 2nd of November the Preps, Ones and Twos participated in the Late Stay. We lucked out with the weather, the sun was shining and it was the perfect afternoon for Kelly Sports activities.

After all of that running around it was time for a zooper dooper before the Preps headed off home. The Ones and Twos had a brilliant afternoon dancing and playing on the playground before finishing off the evening with a couple of sausages. It was a huge success and everyone had a fabulous time!
