Remembrance Day

On Sat, 11 Nov 2023, The School captains of Trafalgar Primary School were honoured to attend the Remembrance service at the Trafalgar Cenotaph. There we were able to listen to some very interesting speeches by various people and were able to lay a wreath on behalf of Trafalgar Primary School.

Then on the following Monday, the 5/6 cohort walked down to the Trafalgar cenotaph where we were kindly greeted by the volunteers there, who shared with us some information about the role that Australia played and is still playing In places all over the world during times of war.

We also were given information about all the different aspects of Remembrance Day and why it is important to attend and or participate in services where possible. After that we were able to (with the help of the volunteers) host our own service, where students were able to play various roles such as speaking and hoisting the flag.

Overall I think everyone had a great and educational time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Junior Girls Golf Scholarship

Trafalgar Golf Club

Please see correspondace below from the Trafalgar Golf Club inviting interested junior girls to participate in their scholarship program.  If you feel your daughter could benifit from this, please contact Anne Outhred on the details outlined in the below letter.

Dear Future Golfers

I am pleased to announce that the Trafalgar Golf Club has again been accepted into the Australian Golf Foundation’s Junior Girls Golf Scholarship program.

Trafalgar Golf Club’s objective is to provide girls between the age of 9 to 16 with the opportunity to start or continue their golfing journey with a group of girls a similar age.

The scholarship will provide a year’s membership and expert tuition free of charge at Trafalgar Golf Club throughout 2024 . We invite any girl who may be interested in a golf scholarship to apply.

Group tuition will be organised at times to suit most participants. For example, during 2023, sessions were held mid-afternoon on Saturdays, as part of Wednesday competition during school holidays and after school coaching was provided during daylight saving periods. Due to the weather the majority of coaching will occur in Terms 1 and 4. Participation in Junior coaching clinics on the 1st Sunday morning of each month is also encouraged.

Further details of the scholarship program are attached.

Applications close on Thursday 14th December 2023.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further scholarship information at women@trafalgargolf.com.au or on my mobile 0427 746 859.

Kind regards
