Year 8 Systems

Our Year 8 Systems classes for this term have started working on their character designs for their circuits. 8J have spent this week finalising their designs, transferring them onto their plywood, and cutting them out with the scroll saws. Some industrious students are even up to painting their designs! We're looking forward to starting our circuitry next week!

Year 9/10 Robotics

The Year 9/10 Robotics class has started working on their Robotic Arm projects for this term. They have been tasked with designing and building a prototype robotic arm, based on one that would be used in industry, utilising the Arduino system and servo motors. Students have designed a range of different models, including portable arms with their own wheels and claws with joystick controls. This week, they started building and some students made the most of our partnership with KIOSC to get their frames 3D printed, while others went back to basics with hot glue and popsicle sticks. While some students started building their frames, others got to work on their wiring, even retrofitting an old game controller! Stay tuned for further updates to see how they come to life.

Art & Technology Showcase

We are looking forward to celebrating the Artisans of the Month for 2023 at this year's Art & Tech Showcase Presentation Evening.

If you haven't got your ticket yet, buy it HERE for $5.

Artisans of the Month are open to our community in three categories every month: Student, Family & Friends and Staff. Winners are selected by vote and announced via Teams. They will receive a certificate and prize on 16 November.

Did you know our Art & Tech Showcase is also Digitally available for you to view and vote? As well as our physical showcase we also create a digital version for our school community to view all our student's digital creations and folio work. Student work will be uploaded to their own individual section for you to view.

Once you have looked through them all you can vote for your favourite work per subject. You can cast your digital votes from the 'Vote' page and they will be added to the total tally of votes (digital and physical) to select our winner.

You can also view our team and our wonderful sponsors for this years showcase:

  • Schokolade Cafe
  •  Officeworks Vermont
  • Bunnings Vermont
  • SportsCo Eastland
  • Costco Ringwood

Stay tuned for the Digital Showcase link going live in coming weeks. The link will be provided to families through all platforms.
