Attendance rates and levels
The Importance of attending school
The NSW Department of Education research has found that positive school attendance benefits students' academic achievement, engagement and wellbeing. Students who attend school regularly are also more likely to experience positive health, social and economic outcomes after leaving school.
Remember, one day absent per fortnight equates to four weeks absent from school each year,
One day absent per week equates to eight weeks absent from school each year.
Over time this can accumulate to years lost of schooling.
