Mother’s Day 2025

We wish all of the mothers, grandmothers, step mothers, aunts and those who take on a motherly role a happy Mother’s Day on Sunday 11 May.

Mother’s Day means different things for different people. We encourage our students at school to make time to do something special for those who take on a motherly role in their life. We also encourage them to make time to say a prayer to Mary, our mother in Heaven.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Please pray for peace in our world

The cardinals, who are gathered in Rome to elect a new pope for the Catholic Church, have asked the people of the world to pray for peace. In recent weeks there has been an increase in fighting and suffering in the countries experiencing war and unrest. Please make some time to pray, preferably as a family, for the world leaders to work together to create a safe place for all people.

Below is a link from the cardinals requesting prayers for peace.

The Conclave - electing a new pope

This week, the cardinals will begin their discussions and voting with the hope of appointing a new pope to lead the Catholic Church.

This is an exciting time for the Catholic Church and also for the world.

We pray the cardinals are guided by the Holy Spirit as the Conclave begins.

First Eucharist Family Faith Evening

On Thursday 15 May, the Year Four students preparing to receive the Eucharist for the first time, their First Holy Communion, will attend a family faith evening in the Hub with at least one adult from their family.

This event is from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Information regarding the Sacrament of Eucharist and details of the First Communion Masses will be shared at this meeting.

Please pray for these students as they prepare for their next sacrament of initiation into the Catholic Church.

The late Pope Francis' Prayer Intentions

Pope Francis published his prayer intentions for each month at the beginning of the year. To honour the memory of Pope Francis, we will continue to publish his monthly prayer intentions until the new pope releases his monthly prayer intentions.  Please try to find some quiet time in your busy day to pray this prayer. Thank you.

For working conditions

Let us pray that through work,

each person might find fulfillment,

families might be sustained in dignity,

and that society might be humanized.

Amen

Eternal rest grant unto Pope Francis, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.
