Walk for Water

Thank you to everyone who donated money for our walk with water day last Friday.

Last Friday we had our walk for water day. We all had the opportunity to experience what it would be like to walk distances carrying containers of water.

Did you know that in some countries it is the job of a girl to walk and collect up to 40 litres of water each morning and each night? Most girls are only around 12 years old when it is their responsibility to collect water. Most times the water that is collected is contaminated and it makes the family ill.

A huge thank you also for the amazing effort everyone has put in with raising money for Caritas over this year. The year 5/6 class was leading for most of the term but with one week to go the Year Prep/ones jumped into the lead with only the water walk collection to be added.

As a school we have donated $704 to Caritas that will go towards building tanks for remote villages in Africa and Samoa which will enable girls to attend school. Well done everyone.

A special congratulations to the year 5/6 class who ended up with the largest amount being $190.

Together we have helped to make the world a better place and change the lives of others!
