Winter Shelter

Winter Shelter 2024Calling all cooks! As you know every Friday night during Winter we are aiming to provide a hot meal and a bed for the night for up to 12 homeless men (aged 18 and over). Our 6 volunteers who perform different roles at the shelter sit down and share the meal with the guests. So we hope to have 18 for dinner each Friday night. Once again we are inviting all families to support us by cooking something. We would like to provide a couple of soups, three main meals, a hot vegetable dish and a salad and a couple of desserts or cakes each Friday night. If you are willing to cook something just open the app , choose a date, Click Take and enter your name, phone number and email address. The app sends a reminder email a few days before.Food can be delivered to Holy Spirit church on Friday afternoons between 3.15 -3.45pm or between 5 and 6pm.If you have any questions please ring Ellen Holmes on 0404357023.

Recycling at Holy Spirit

The Sustainability Leaders and I have initiated a new program for recycling items that can be saved from landfill and recycled into many other products. Please see the pictures below to find out what you can now bring to school to recycle. We can recycle and reuse items more often.

We can all be Stewards of God’s creation. Every little bit helps!

Our goal is to contribute positively towards our planet.

  • The bins are located under the shelter near the 1 / 2 area next to the gardening club.
  • PLEASE make sure all items are clean.
  • All aerosols MUST have their lids on them.
  • All items must be EMPTY, and NO cardboard.

Hope you can all do your little bit extra to help rid our world of waste.

Lego Club

Our LEGO Group has been buzzing with excitement as we kicked off the term with a zoo-themed building challenge! The students had a fantastic time bringing the zoo to life with their creations. We saw everything from intricate enclosures and towering giraffes to safari trucks and sleek cars. A huge well done to all the students for their incredible creativity and imagination!

This week, we're gearing up for another thrilling challenge. Join us every Thursday at lunchtime in the Library for more LEGO fun. Whether you're an experienced builder or just starting out, there's always something new to explore and create. Let's keep building and having a blast together!

See you there!
