Dedication to Mary

The month of May holds a special meaning for our Catholic community as it is traditionally dedicated to honouring Mary, the mother of Jesus and our heavenly mother.

Mary's example of faith, humility, compassion, courage, and selfless love is woven into the fabric of who we are as community. Her "yes" to becoming the mother of our Saviour set into motion God's plan for our redemption. Mary's unwavering trust in the Lord provides an inspiring model for how we are called to live out our faith daily.

Throughout this month, as a school community we are deepening our relationship with the Blessed Mother through classroom lessons, prayers, and liturgies. I encourage you to embrace this sacred time at home to continue strengthening this relationship by praying the rosary together as a family or reading passages from the Gospels that recall the journey of Mary as the  mother of Jesus. One of my  personal favourites is the Wedding at Cana. This passage ignites a passionate and interesting conversation at our dinner table. Ponder on the role Mary played in Jesus’ first miracle or the significance of the wine running out. Can you make any connections?

As a family embark on a journey of faith, visiting one or some of these sacred spaces where Mary is venerated and honoured. Offer prayers of gratitude and seek Mary’s intercession for your intentions, knowing that she listens with a mother’s love.

Just as Mary accompanied Jesus throughout His life, she accompanies us on our earthly journey. We can turn to her with our joys, sorrows, hopes, and fears, knowing she will guide us closer to her Son.

As we celebrate this month of May, let us ask Mary to intercede and protect our families, school, and world. Through her example, may we grow in our love for Jesus and our commitment to bringing His light to others through our actions and words.

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

I would like to extend a warm invitation to all parents to our upcoming celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart on Friday 7th June at 11:30am.
