Year 2 Newsletter

Dear Parents,

We are mid way through the term now and have been very busy in the classroom and with wider school events.

Important dates for this term

Monday 10th June - King’s Birthday (Public Holiday)

Friday 28th June - Last Day of Term

What have we been up to in the classroom?

In maths we are learning to subtract using mental strategies and practising these in multiple ways. In literacy we have been reviewing our most recent spelling codes and looking at adding suffixes to words. In writing we have been learning how to compose narratives and will be publishing our writing in the coming weeks.

Life Education

Over the past weeks our students have attended Life Education where we focused on being a good friend and how we can encourage each other. The students enjoyed seeing Harold and participating in the activities within the sessions.

100 Birthday Celebration

We had a wonderful day last week at the school’s 100th birthday. The students all looked amazing and did a wonderful job performing at the assembly. Congratulations to them all.

Coach Approach

The year 2 students had a great time at Coach Approach today. We participated in 3 rotations of team building, athletics and soccer. It was great to see the students participating, helping each other and showing good sportsmanship.
